Recently I upgraded the blog to WordPress 2.5.1. It had been a long time without doing it, so I was a little afraid of the problems that could appear. But, fortunately, I discovered a new plugin that helps on doing it on an assisted way, like a web-based wizard. With just a few minutes, everything (including some plugins) was updated and running smoothly. The only problem pending to solve is the magnatune browser, which I can’t load successfully. I’m working on it. But the greatest (positive) surprise was the integration of tags.
I have seen on some blogs what is called “tag cloud“. When you write a new post, you assign some tags to it. All the tags of your blog are showed on this cloud, and the more used a tag is, the bigger it is displayed. I find it an interesting feature, but before the upgrade I simply used plugins that provided keywords and tags withouth using the cloud, just to help crawlers indexing my site.
But this version of WP implements its own tags ans cloud engine, with no need of external plugins. So, all the tags and keyword of my older posts are not included on the cloud, because I was using Jerome’s Keywords Plugin and Bunny’s Technorati Tags. I’m looking something to automagically convert all my old tags to this new “standard”. If you have some clue about how to do it, it will be gratefully appreciated!
